Frequently Asked Questions
These are the most common questions from inquiries and orientation programs we have conducted.

1. After completion of the course, shall you handle my placement?

We offer placement assistance in documenting the application process to the Canadian Embassy to all our graduates. We have alliances with some overseas placement agencies that are willing to assist our graduates. We do not run our own recruitment agency. That is against the law and we would like to focus on what we do best - provide quality skills education.

2. Is there an age limit to the program?

You need to be at least 18 years to qualify. For as long as one is healthy and can work. No limit was set to qualify or be disqualified.

3.  What are the minimum requirements to qualify for the Caregiver Training Program or the Home Manager Training Program?

The minimum requirements are found here.

4.   Are there night classes for the Caregiver Course?

No. The afternoon schedule is from 2 to 9 pm inclusive of one (1) hour break. There are no evening classes for the Caregiver Course for Canada bound health workers.

5.  Why E-Care?

We have a very professional staff at E-care. We have the best instructors in their respective fields of expertise.  We are very active on the web,  This equates to more contacts and global alliances. This should mean more employment opportunities for our graduates.

6.  Do you have TESDA accreditation?

Yes. We are accredited by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority of the Philippines. This is the monitoring and implementing arm of the Philippine Government in technical and skills education. We were accredited under the new  Training Regulation that provides for strict standards for the profession (see news article).  Our TESDA  Accreditation No. is WTR 03-055 for the Caregiver Course and NTR 03-153 for Home Manager Course.

7.  How much does a caregiver get as wages?

Caregiver wages are stipulated on the Contract of Employment you and your employer sign for the Live-in Caregiver Program. The contract also indicates the job description, housekeeping responsibilities, working condition, etc. Depending on your qualifications and experience, range of compensation is at least Can$ 10.00 per hour and higher depending on skills and contract.

8.  How long does it take for one’s paper to be processed?

From the time you get your validated offer of employment (from HRC, Human Resource Canada) and submit this for drop-box application to the Canadian Consulate, the whole process may take as long as 24 months now.

9. Why does it take too long to get an interview schedule?

The sheer volume of the application forms the consulate has to attend to and the sheer number of caregiver applicants account for the wait time. It is recommended that the guidelines set by the embassy be followed to avoid further delays and returned or rejected applications.

10. Do we need to pass get the Caregiver Licensure Exam?

Caregiver graduates are required to take the assessment examination to get their NC II (National Certification level 2) license. It is recommended to pass it to verify and assess skills learned. Some countries other than Canada may require the license.
