there an age limit to the program?
You need
to be at least 18 years to qualify. For as long as one is healthy and can work.
No limit was set to qualify or be disqualified.

What are the minimum requirements to qualify for the Caregiver Training Program
or the Home Manager Training Program?

Are there night classes for the Caregiver Course?
No. The
afternoon schedule is from 2 to 9 pm inclusive of one (1) hour break. There are no evening classes for the
Caregiver Course for Canada bound health workers.

Do you have TESDA accreditation?
Yes. We
are accredited by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority of
the Philippines. This is the monitoring and implementing arm of the Philippine
Government in technical and skills education. We were accredited under the new
Training Regulation that
provides for strict standards for the profession (see news article). Our
TESDA Accreditation No. is WTR 03-055 for the Caregiver Course and NTR
03-153 for Home Manager Course.

How much does a caregiver get as wages?
Caregiver wages are
stipulated on the Contract of Employment you and your employer sign for the
Live-in Caregiver Program. The contract also indicates the job description,
housekeeping responsibilities, working condition, etc. Depending on your
qualifications and experience, range of compensation is at least Can$ 10.00 per
hour and higher depending on skills and contract.
8.
How long does it take for one’s paper to be
processed?
From the time you get
your validated offer of employment (from HRC, Human Resource
Canada) and submit this for drop-box application to the Canadian Consulate, the
whole process may take as long as 24 months now.
9. Why
does it take too long to get an interview schedule?
The sheer
volume of the application forms the consulate has to attend to and the sheer
number of caregiver applicants account for the wait time. It is recommended that
the guidelines set by the embassy be followed to avoid further delays and
returned or rejected applications.
10. Do we need to pass
get the Caregiver Licensure Exam?
Caregiver
graduates are required to take the assessment examination to get their NC II
(National Certification level 2) license. It is recommended to pass it to verify and assess skills learned.
Some countries other than Canada may require the license.
